Hey there! 💞
Mother's Day has a way of making us think about the big things first—the sacrifices, the love, the endless ways moms show up even when they're running on empty. But today I keep thinking about the quieter things too.
The mornings when her body feels a little heavier than it used to. The sore knees she doesn't mention. The tired back she stretches out in silence before starting her day like nothing happened. The random aches she still has from giving birth to us…despite her kids being full-grown adults who should know better. 😅 The stiff neck from years of sleeping in weird positions because someone always needed more space on the bed. The hands that ache from decades of cooking, cleaning, carrying. The hips, the shoulders, the feet that have literally carried the whole family forward.
Moms are built different, honestly.
They run on three hours of sleep, cold coffee, and sheer willpower, and still somehow remember everyone's schedules, everyone's preferences, everyone's feelings. Meanwhile some of us forget to reply to a text for four days. 🙋🏻
And yet they never really ask for much, do they? A "thank you" lands well. A good meal out makes their whole week. The bar is on the floor and they're still grateful. Which honestly makes us want to do more for them, not less.
Because here's the thing about moms, they're so good at pushing through that their own needs quietly move to the bottom of the list. The aching joints. The tired body. The tension they carry without making it anyone else's problem. They're fine, they say. They're always fine.
So today, between the flowers and the food and the family chaos, I hope we also give them something that actually takes care of them back. Something that says: we notice. We see you. And we've got you. 🥰
Happy Mother's Day to every mom, grandmother, and nurturing soul who held everything together—usually without being asked. You deserve all of it today. 🌸
And if you grabbed an Oleia gift for your mom…well…she's already in good hands. 😉
Show me your bottle and I'll show you mine? 'Til next time! 💐
