Hey there! 👀
Have you ever looked in the mirror and spotted a new pimple at the worst possible time? Maybe you have a big event coming up and lots of photos will be taken? Yeah…we've all been there. 🙈 The good news is, tea tree essential oil is one of the oldest natural acne-fighters around and it's easier to find than you'd think. It might just be the ticket you’re looking for to change your skincare game. 🥇
So what actually makes tea tree oil work on acne?
Tea tree oil comes from the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia, an Australian plant with nearly a century of use as a natural topical antiseptic. Its active compound, terpinen-4-ol, is responsible for most of its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects. It can kill bacteria, fungi, and even skin mites at concentrations as low as 1%. 🦠 Studies have shown it can reduce the number of pimples and make skin less oily—and while it didn't work quite as well as benzoyl peroxide in some trials, tea tree oil came with fewer side effects. Which is a point for tea tree imo. ✅
Can it also fight fungal skin issues?
This is where it gets interesting. Not everything that looks like acne is acne. Fungal acne, or Malassezia folliculitis, is caused by an overgrowth of yeast on the skin, producing small, itchy, red bumps that can look just like regular breakouts but need a completely different approach to treat. Terpinen-4-ol has been found to act against Malassezia yeast, making tea tree oil a potential option for this particular type of skin concern.
Why pair it with Oleia Pure?
Essential oils should never go on bare skin undiluted. A standard guideline is a 3% dilution, roughly 3 drops of tea tree oil per teaspoon of carrier oil like coconut, jojoba, or olive oil. ⚪Oleia Pure Oil⚪ is already a beautifully balanced blend of olive oil, pomegranate seed oil, moringa seed oil, and virgin coconut oil, carrier oils that help deliver active ingredients deeper into the skin. So dabbing a diluted mix of Bea Oleia Tea Tree Pure Essential Oil on top of Oleia Pure as a targeted spot treatment makes complete sense. The base does the carrying work and the tea tree does the fighting.
The results can be encouraging: fewer active breakouts, calmer redness, and for those dealing with scalp or chest fungal flare-ups, real visible improvement over a few consistent weeks of use.
Consistency, of course, is the key word here. 😉
Soooo want to try it?
Start with a patch test. Mix 2–3 drops of tea tree EO into a small amount of Oleia Pure in your palm, then dab gently on active spots or affected areas. Once or twice a day is plenty. Give it two to three weeks and watch how your skin responds. Have a chat with your derma too, especially if the breakouts are persistent, but in the meantime, this is one natural pairing worth trying. 💜
After all, nature has been solving skin problems long before the 10-step routine existed…sometimes we just need to know how to use it right.
Show me your bottle and I'll show you mine? 'Til next time! 👋🏻
