Pagod is Real: Taking Care of Our Bodies This Holy Week 😫🌿

Hey there! 👋🏻

Holy Week looks different for everyone now. Some of us are doing Visita Iglesia, joining processions, waking up early for Salubong. Others are booking trips and treating it as the long weekend it is, whether we’re walking from church to church or running through airports, one thing stays the same—we.get.tired. 🫣

It doesn’t all hit at once, for sure but it does builds up.

Tight calves after a full day out.

Headaches from heat, fasting, or missed meals. 🔥

That lower back ache from hours of standing, sitting, then standing again.

If we’re out for long walks, it’s the heat and distance. If we’re traveling, it’s early call times, long drives, and disrupted routines. Even sleep takes a hit, either from early mornings or trying to squeeze the most out of a the mini vacay.

None of it is bad. It’s part of the experience. But it does mean our bodies are really getting the brunt of it. 👀

Do you know what we shouldn’t skip? Recovery, but it’s the one thing we sometimes do. 🙋🏻

Even a few minutes at the end of the day helps. Sitting down, legs up, massaging your calves, easing tension in your shoulders, letting your body catch up.

You know that saying about needing a vacation from our vacation? This is exactly that. What I’ve found is that Oleia helps bridge that gap, so when we finally get to rest, it actually feels like rest, and we wake up feeling well-rested instead of waking up still pagod. 😴

Being intentional about rest has made the biggest difference for me. I still do everything I want, whether it’s the walks, the visits, or even quick trips, and see all that I can. But instead of just plopping down on the bed at night, I take a few minutes to reset. I keep my Oleia Oil with me and use it at night, especially on my legs and lower back, so I can actually enjoy the next day.

I’m telling you, it quickly becomes a hot commodity with the fam or friends once we’re back at home or the hotel. 😝

It’s not about doing less. It’s about recovering better so we can keep going and actually enjoy it.

Because however we spend Holy Week, we’re still showing up, and our bodies are carrying us through every step. Let’s take care of that too. 🥰

Show me your bottle and I’ll show you mine? 'Til next time! 💜
