Hooked on Health: Why Fish and Anti-Inflammatory Habits Are a Winning Combo 🏆🎣

I’ve always been a huge fan of seafood, and it turns out, fish isn’t just delicious—it’s one of the best things you can eat for your health. 🙌 Whether it’s heart protection, brain health, or just loading up on essential nutrients, fish checks a lot of boxes. And the best part? You can prepare it in so many ways that it never gets boring! 😋

 

 

For starters, fish is a nutritional powerhouse. It’s packed with protein, vitamin D, and those ever-important omega-3 fatty acids, which are crucial for both brain and heart health. 💓 Omega-3s are what make fatty fish like salmon and mackerel so great—they reduce inflammation, lower the risk of heart disease, and even help keep your brain sharp. If you ask me, that’s a prettyyy solid reason to add more fish to your weekly menu. 😉 And trust me, it’s easier than you think to fit in!

 

 

Now, I’m always looking for new ways to enjoy fish. Sometimes, when I’m feeling all fancy (and if I have the funds to splurge 😝) I’ll make Salmon en Papillote which is a fancy way of saying I bake it in parchment paper over a bed of veggies with a little lemon, some herbs, garlic and some butter for flavor, it makes for a light and satisfying meal and very healthy too.

 

 

Other times, I love a good tuna sear with some soy sauce and sesame seeds—it feels very gourmet but it’s super simple. And on those days when I’m craving comfort food? You can’t beat a crispy fish fry with---wait for it---ketchup, yes I said it. Nothing like fried tulingan or some fried hiwas dipped in ketchup with rice. 😋 Anyway, I digress, whatever your preference, there’s always a way to make fish the star of the plate. Am I right? As I mentioned, one of the biggest reasons I’m hooked on fish (pun intended) is its role in heart health. Studies show that people who eat fish regularly have a lower risk of heart attacks and strokes.
